Try to select a good cabin location. We booked late and took the “guaranteed” cabin deal. Great price but not great cabin location given the noise issues above.

Read up on the history of Cuba . Our guest speaker for Cuba cancelled . They did provide an excellent speaker but his lectures were of coral reefs, birds etc.

Don’t feel that you must use the ship’s shore excursions, even in Cuba.

If one opts for a suite, ask more from the butler. He should have done more for us ohter than deliver room service and afternoon canapes.

Having a small ship makes it a very friendly atmosphere and easy to get around. Did not miss the crowds that is usually on the bigger ships.

If it's in your budget, go for a suite. Even the largest veranda staterooms are small, and the bathrooms are tiny.

The land excursions arranged by Azamara fell short of our expectations. When the one in Malaga was not what was described and the tour guide was rude and we reported it to the tour desk Azamara did not offer to refund our money and only thanked us for our feedback. They advised us they had many complains about that exact excursion.
