Circle island tour a waste. The folks who did "day at the beach with snorkeling" raved about it. Beautiful beach. The shuttle bus goes to ok but not great beaches. We were there on a national holiday, so missed out on marketplace.

The currency on this island is the New Zealand dollar; they also accept US dollars. Good snorkeling and swimming.

A local man who hailed from the USA decades ago took us on a ride around the island. That was surely more interesting and way less expensive than a ship tour. Basically this small island has a couple of towns, lots of houses along the beach, palm trees everywhere, and a volcano in the center. Everybody is related to everybody else.

We took the art tour conducted by a native carver from New Zealand. Very , very interesting. We saw some of his work and the stories he told on himself were fasinating.

We took HAL's Island Discovery Tour, which was basically a panoramic drive. First we viewed the main sights and learned about the history & culture of the island. We drove through the main township of Avarua. We stopped was the National Museum and later traveled along the ancient Great Road of Toi. that circles the whole island. Next we visited Ngatangua Harbour, Avana Passage and the Seven Stones Monument. Later we viewed the oldest church on the island, Titikaveka Church
