Kusadasi is very walkable. when you come out of the port, there is shopping to the left and straight across from the port. There is a castle to the right and old town to the left. I would recommend not going to Sevda Tepesi, the park with an overlook. Many are reportably hassled there for access and photos. If you were talking Ephesus, then you would need an excursion or taxi and we'll worth the trip.

Ship docks directly in town. Walk straight out of the port and cross the road. There is shopping on the right side and a much larger shopping area on the left side. There are a bunch of fish restaurants outside the port on the left side. I prefer the restaurants at the marina (10 minute walk on your left side). Either Tranche Steakhouse (1st restaurant at the marina) or Ketchup (last restaurant at the marina). There’s also some shopping at the marina. There’s a pharmacy (Eczane) across the road (just before the Marina if needed). For the beach I would recommend Ladies Beach (5 minute taxi ride from the port). Tons of restaurants, water sports, chairs & umbrellas to rent. If you are doing Ephesus it’s best to either book ship excursion or pre-book one of the local tour operating companies (wouldn’t recommend a taxi or public transportation).
