Years later I cruised on her from Ft Lauderdale to Nassau , she was called the
Ocean Breeze

I love exploring the history of ships, where they came from and where they ended up, and the SS Azure Seas (originally christened Southern Cross) certainly had an interesting (and long) run: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Southern_Cross_(1955)
So very different from today's ships, but she must have been fabulous in her day. And she got you hooked on cruising, so she must be a special memory for you. Thanks for sharing!
