We have never used the mini bar to make a purchase. Other passengers must or they wouldn't put them in cabins. We do however use it for our water bottles or to keep something else cool. We always consult the steward before we do that. Gloria

I do not buy anything in the mini bar , but I do use it to keep my beers cold
As I have pointed out in earlier entries, I have not cruise a great deal, However, because I communicate with my Travel Advisor many times before I cruise, I make sure there is a small fridge in the unit. NCL and Princess were great as the inside room included a fridge. We have travelled around other than cruises and find that if you need something , always ask.

Only for the sodas. We also store some fruit from the buffet in there. We sometimes put meds in it.......yeah,yeah, I know..........

Sounds good to me! It is nice to have the convenience of having your beverages right in your room. It is good to know that passengers use them. On my next cruise, almost all stateroom do not have mini bars - just the suites. Gloria
I make sure that I advise my room Steward to make sure my favorite beer is always cold and that there is a couple bottles of Pinot Grigio for Monique. We tip nicely for that option and have yet to be disappointed.
