Royal Caribbean Awarded Best Cruise Line
Announced this week, our community members named Royal Caribbean Cruise Line the Best Overall Cruise Line. The line was also the big winner in several other categories, making it the most awarded line in the Cruiseline.com 2023 Member Choice Awards. It’s no surprise Royal Caribbean receives top marks from cruisers as they have such innovative onboard activities. From their rock climbing walls, zip lining, ice skating, and water slides, they are now adding iFLY simulators to their floating resorts. Essentially, adrenaline junkies and adventure seekers alike will be spoiled for choice with all the offerings onboard. Looking for a slower pace for your cruise vacation? Royal Caribbean also has more subdued areas such as the solarium, spa, and several areas of the ship that are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sea views. The bottom line is that Royal Caribbean has something for everyone regardless of age or activity level. The beautifully designed ships offer endless possibilities for spending a day at sea.
The Cruiseline.com and Shipmate community were back cruising in 2022 and shared their cruise experiences by writing reviews. We used this review data to gather all the rankings from the 2022 calendar year to create the 2023 Member Choice Awards. After culling through thousands of reviews and sorting by various categories, Royal Caribbean again this year came out on top, winning several categories.

In addition to being top-ranked in many categories, Royal Caribbean holds the title of the ‘World’s Largest Cruise Ship’ with Wonder of the Seas weighing in at 236,867 gross tons. However, that title will be passed onto the sister ship, Icon of the Seas, when she debuts in 2024. Icon of the Seas will weigh in at 250,800 gross tons.
With 27 ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet, the line offers cruises from the Caribbean and the Bahamas to the far reaches of the globe, with more than 300 ports to visit worldwide. On December 10, 2023, the line will sail its first-ever World Cruise, a 274-night global experience visiting more than 60 countries onboard Serenade of the Seas. This ultimate adventure sails roundtrip from Miami, returning on September 10, 2024. Shorter segments are available within the World Cruise for those looking for something extra special but able to enjoy the full sailing.
