We really liked this ship. It was a lot
easier to navigate than some of their ships. Our cabin was 8276 and it was in a prime location and our room steward was amazing. We loved O’Sheens and my father loved the thermal spa. On deck 8 on the sunset bar or the la cuciana on the water from there are nice couches and chairs that a lot of people did not know about until our second to last day of the cruise. 🤫

While this ship is the only one of its type via NCL. The layout is super easy to understand and get used to. I love this ship (especially the solo cabins.)

Carnival Magic

Cruise tips
We did the Mayan ruins through the ship and we loved it. Very easy to figure out where to go. We also loved to look around the port. It is HUGE! Next time we’ll just hang out at the port.
We went on a catamaran excursion which included snorkeling which was cool. Then we went to a beach where they had a water jungle gym which was really cool.
They had a ton of shops we ended up shopping then heading back to the boat. The water near the boats was full of seaweed. They must have had a storm blow through and stir it up.
Would not suggest to go into the rainforest until after the 4th of July you can’t go on the road past the waterfall cause it got damaged in the hurricane. But I do suggest going to old San Juan and the old fort.
Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic
Beautiful port. There is a water park free to the cruisers. And there are tons of shops. So that’s what I did. We decided not to book an excursion and just wing it.
