Has anyone tried 'My Time Dining' on Royal Caribbean? are reservations necessary?

Not needed. 4th floor is for walk in. Other 3 floors are for scheduled times

My time dining has a floor that is for walk in dining. No need for scheduling.

There are 2 lines for MyTime dining, those with reservations (can be made in the cruise planner prior to your cruise) or in person; and another line for standby. 5:30 is just a bit too early for us, so we made 6:30 reservations for each night with the same wait staff. My significant other prefers traditional dining. I prefer MyTime.

MTD means you are not locked into the scheduled 1st (early) or 2nd (late) seating. You actually can go whenever you want, but be prepared for a long wait. You made a good decision to lock in a time. Enjoy!

It has changed. It was early at 530. Now it’s far later. We had to change to early seating

I was curious about this, we have YTD but we had to pick 715pm when we did it. It's fine but thought it was odd when the whole point of YTD is to go when you want.
