This cruise does not offer much for those with limited mobility. If you can't get off the ship, there is very little of interest. It was just about a complete waste of my money.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Everyone was very kind and helpful. The gangplank was not difficult to climb.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was OK but nothing special. Best meal was the BBQ with excellent lobster.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Nothing of interest to me. Would have liked some educational opportunities. Lectures on sailing, volcanoes, local flora and fauna, local history, for example
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The only band I heard played a very trite selection of pop songs mostly on key.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Ship staff especially my cabin steward were all unfailingly kind. All you had to do was look up and someone came over in the dining room or the bar to find out what they could do for you.

Cabin / Stateroom

Bed very comfortable. Reasonably large room but as on most ships, a little tight. I would have liked a room with a good chair for reading and watching TV.
Ship tip
The ship does not not dock at ports of call. You must go down a flight of ten steps to a platform on the rocking ship and transfer down another couple of steps into a rocking tender. Don't know what happens at the other end of the trip as I have limited mobility, was not informed of this feature of the cruise, and was unable to leave the ship for an entire week.
Took the tour of Barbados, transfer to the airport. Gave a nice overview of the island. Tour should have been planned to arrive earlier at the airport however as it was very crowded and a number of people just barely made it in time to catch their flight.
Not sure if you read through the Windstar brochures or on-line reviews, but they are pretty clear that the cruise may not be ideal for folks with limited mobility or for that matter children. We have been on 5 Windstar cruises and living in Miami, where we have hundreds of options on going on multi thousand passenger cruise ships, we rather fly somewhere to get on a Windstar. We have met the most interesting people who are now friends and would recommend this for folks who are not looking for fancy shows or casinos, but in great interaction with other humans. Their destinations are also not reachable by the larger ships which gives them that exclusive feature.
