Review summary

When we originally booked this cruise, St. Petersburg, Russia was on the itinerary. Due to the political situation, Visby was substituted. Great choice, RCI! We planned this cruise to get an overview of places that we might want to re-visit on our own, without a cruise involved. It was really nice to get back to "normal" cruising, with masks being optional for passengers, and required only for crew. We've even discussed about taking a similar cruise again, when the weather is a bit warmer.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy to/from Port using the free shuttle from the Metro. RCI organized the embarkation process to be painless and fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We didn't go to any of the specialty restaurants, but the main dining room had awesome servers and typically excellent Royal Caribbean food. The buffets had interesting selections, including Indian and vegan options at all opening hours.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness centre staff were engaged and fun. Dance lessons were a great 30-min workout. Hot tubs were inconsistently hot or a bit cool, but you could always find a hot tub of the desired temperature. Ice skating was very well-organized, but try to get an earlier slot. By the time of the last 30-minute slot for skating, the ice was pretty badly chewed up.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Musicians/DJ's and singers were quite good. The ice skating show was the best I've seen on any RC cruise.

Children's Programs

We didn't have kids with us on the cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The servers in the main dining room were amazing. Their daily recommendations were spot-on, and they were attentive, but not lurking. The room steward was on top of everything; every time we returned to our room, he had made it up, and left us ice.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Voyager is possibly the cleanest, best-kept ship I've ever been on. Once we got our bearings, it was easy to find everything that we wanted to find.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a big interior cabin. Bed was comfortable, and there was even a small couch. Everything was very clean (thanks to the room steward). On the last day, we noticed that the showerhead was leaking and that the floor in the shower wasn't totally glued down, so we told the steward about it. Not a big deal at all, especially because we didn't notice anything until just before disembarking the ship.

Ship tip

Take fitness classes! The staff is very encouraging, and the classes themselves are lots of fun.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth disembarkation. I was a bit surprised that we didn't have to clear customs upon our return to Copenhagen, but when we left the following day, I found out why. In Denmark, your passport gets stamped both inbound and outbound.
