Not what I was used to

Sail Date: November 19, 2011

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Suite

This is the third trip this year on this ship, and we were surprised to find black mold inour stateroom. We were even more shocked that it tookk three days to get it cleaned up. Our daughter was sick by the first morning and it lasted the whole trip. We were offered to take her to the ships physician at our expense though.
Trip was not enjoyable at all with a sick child the entire time.
Our two previoous trips were from the Galveston port, this time from New Orleans. The New Orleans terminal is very unorganized to say the least. There is one way in which passes by the Norwegian terminal then the RCI terminal all passengers leaving and entering are all funnelled through the same area. This created a nighmare for traffic causing the ship to be delayed in leaving since several pallets of luggage was still sitting on the dock at departure time.
This is even made worse when the train comes by and stops all traffic completely due to the POOR traffic flow design.
Will NEVER use this port again

Pros: meeting the same staff again

Cons: mold in the room and dirty carpet

Recommends Voyager of the Seas? No.

Cabin / Stateroom
mold in room in plain sight as well as the large balck stain on the carpet in our suite, Attendant was very neglectful as it took three days to attempt to clean. The attendant only cleaned the cabin twice and never touched the balcony as there was sand and trash left there from the previous cruise.
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
The buftet menu was the sam every day and could use a makeover.
The midnight buffet was poorly planned in traffic flow as people were routed in from two sides of the deck meeting in the middle causing people to push and shove and nearly turning into fights as each side feeling they had the right of way.
Very bad environment for the children
Service and Staff
Children's Programs
The highlight of the trip was the camp counselors for our daughter,
