Review summary

I don't know if it was this particular ship, but I noticed that the amount of unsupervised children running around was very low. On Carnival cruises, there are UNSUPERVISED children running around and in the pools younger than what I would need to supervise in my own back yard. Parents, you may be on vacation but I am too. If you have no one to leave your children with while you vacation, don't go. My wife and I have raised three children, don't depend on myself, other cruisers and the ships crew to watch your children and then blame other people when an accident happens. It is so sad for me to see toddlers dropped off at the ships daycare while mom and dad go play. I apologize if I have offended anyone but I am sure there are other cruisers with this same opinion.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Timely and Hassle free. We let the ship handle our big luggage and used a backpack for our essentials and to avoid bothering other cruisers dragging our luggage around.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I thought the food was very good for this cruise. It seems to be a hit and miss with any cruise I've been on. I've seen bad reviews for the food for this ship but everything we tried was very good. Main dining room-- we had "Anytime Dining" but you had to make reservations. (?) Make sure you wear slacks on formal night or you will get "scorned" by the matre' d.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We have been on many cruises, so just the relaxing experience of the cruise itself is entertainment enough for us. The show and bars we did indulge in were excellent.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
All shows and performers were excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wait staff, room stewards, ship personnel were excellent and friendly! (Hint-- I tip extra. probably why everything was Excellent)

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is smaller and showing it's age, but clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
cabin size, balcony, room steward all very good.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5
I've been to Galveston many times. We went down one day early to take in some of the night entertainment before the cruise to not feel so rushed for the next day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
After disembarkation was announced, we were off the ship very quickly

I agree . Never sail when schools out and often sail on adult only ships
