Review summary
Mediocre cruise generally but I am here to report a sham. I went to on board medical services after vomiting and experiencing heartburn. Instead of being told there were free heartburn/gas med packets at the entrance I was hooked up to EKGs, blood drawn and referred to a clinic in Cozumel for the next day. I was told that the cost was $180 something. The next day I went to the clinic and after waiting and having more blood drawn after two hours I finally decided to leave because I noticed on the clinic directory a picture of the on board physician. Upon return to the ship I was presented with a bill for $605 instead of the $184 initially agreed to amount. When I complained I was told to submit the bill to my insurance and of course I was also charged at the clinic in Cozumel
All of this makes me wonder if this was all a money making venture:
- unnecessary medical services
- unnecessary referrals
- conflict of interest referrals
All of this for heartburn.
