Review summary

This cruise clearly had technology issues. There were technology issues at embarkation and every day when scanning our cards to leave or return to the ship. About half the time, the crew member scanning the cards gave up and just started writing the names and room numbers for the people leaving or returning to the ship.

Viking made us stop at a hotel for a couple of hours before going to the ship. We had to check in there then again at the dock, then a third time when we got on board because there technology wasn't working properly.

Requested no feather pillows but when we arrived, all the pillows were feather. The in room safe didn't work and we had to ask three times before it was fixed. The phone didn't work, it continually flashed "initializing", off and on all night. The message light strobed constantly and if you tried to clear it you received a message that the service was unavailable. The phone was NEVER fixed. We gave up asking for it to be fixed on the 5th cruise day.

Disembarkation

If you were standing at the gangway, you were told you could bisembark long before it was announced on the PA system. Even with that lack of coordination the process ran smoothly. Our bags were already loaded on our bus so we didn't have to claim them and then take them to the bus ourselves.
