Review summary
This wasn't high on my bucket list but the price/timing was right. This was a 14 day river cruise from St Petersburg to Moscow via the Neva and Volga Rivers. We spent 3 days in St Petersburg on the front of the cruise and 3 days in Moscow on the end of the cruise and visited a number of smaller vllages and towns in between. Crew was excellent as was the food and the guides were fluent and extremely knowledgeable. Happen to spend my birthday in the small town of Uglich and had an opportunity to visit a local household where we ate cake, drank tea and had 3 shots of home made vodka before 9:00am. Would definitely recommend this cruise to any one - St Petersburg is fascinating as is Moscow (Red Square at midnight is especially memorable). We were very lucky to do this during the "Golden Autumn", an event that doesn't happen that frequently - the leaves were all in color during the entire cruise. So much to see, so much history and culture to absorb.

That sounds awesome CruisinGeysirs! What an amazing 15-night itinerary that is! We found the new Regal Princess to be our favorite of all the Princess ships we’ve been on and we loved spending a few days in Copenhagen before and after our Northern Europe cruise a couple months ago! Have a great cruise and come back here to cruiseline.com and tell us all about it when you get back!

Next up is transatlantic (our 5th time) This one will be from Copenhagen to New York via Norway and the British Isles on the Regal Princess in September.

Thanks for posting your first review here. I love river cruises and enjoyed your review. I have visited St Petersburg and hope to return to Russia in the future either on a ocean liner or a river cruise.

We love river cruising but, like you, this itinerary hasn’t been at the top of our list. Your cruise sounds wonderful though, thanks for the review! Where will you be cruising to next?
(Now I need to plan on being in Uglich for my birthday! Cake and homemade vodka for breakfast sounds awesome!)
