The Viking Freya is a new ship for 2012. It was very clean in staterooms and in general areas. Staff was super and helpful.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The dining-room is very noisy. Modifications to the ceiling tiles would help. All passengers dined at the same time and the food was good. Some items on the menu were unsatisfactory..'Jumbo' shrimp(one 1\" shrimp isn't jumbo) The tandoori chicken sticks were dry. Overall I think it's v good and having some items that are available every night as alternatives is a great idea. The grill for a quiet evening was super and a shame more people didn't take advantage of it. It's disappointing that Viking does not offer local/regional wines and beers as part of the package. This would also encourage passengers to buy local wine/beer. I enjoyed the variety of the menu.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The organized outings were just right leaving time for exploration on our own. The on-board entertainment and activities were well-planned with a lot of variety.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was helpful and the cruise directors were fun and very hard-working.

Cabin / Stateroom

It was very comfortable with plenty of storage. Always clean.

Pros: Itinerary\, organized outings each day\, smaller craft.

Cons: Noisy dining-room\, not enough hand-sanitizers.
