Review summary

Our vacation was a group of 5 with 2 in a balcony room & 3 in a mini suite.  We were all family and as far as our group, we were wonderful traveling companions!

Out mini suite was suppose to come with glasses of champagne!  Nope!  Had to ask steward about it & 2 glasses showed up. Duh, the room has 3 booked guests!  So, another glass came, but all week we had to remind him that we had 3 people in the room!  Now, I will say that when it came to bedtime, they would remember to fix all 3 beds!  Go figure.

Our trip had many glitches in it but we conquered!  We were all determined to not let our vacation be ruined.  It did finally got to the point that it was difficult to do this, but we prayed and persevered!  We were determined to have a grand time no matter what because our group was my husband & I, our sister-in-law, and her daughter & husband.  With this said, our sister-in-law is battling lung cancer & this trip was mostly for her & her & I were doing something that was on our bucket list!

After hearing so many wonderful things about Princess cruises and that Alaska was their specialty, it was so very disappointing for us.

All this said, we have focused on the good that happened on the trip, but very sorry to say that we cannot recommend Princess Cruises to anyone because we cannot recommend for someone to spend a chunk of money and end up as disappointed as we are.

After several carribean cruises on princess, I had an expectation when I booked our Alaskan cruise. I was very disappointed. Th room steward, food in horizon court buffet, entertainment were all sub par. Ship was nice views were spectacular. Ship basically shut down at 11 pm. No food drinks entertainment, active, casino, nothing.

I'm so sorry one missing champagne glass ruined your entire experience.

I hope that steward doesn't service our cabin on the Hawaiian cruise 25th October

I agree, don't give up on Princess. Sounds like the problem lies with the room steward. This is not the usual standard for Princess.

We have been on the Star once before and loved it, that said, we have always been blessed with great service from Princess staff over 9 cruises. We leave for Hawaii on the Star next week, I sure hope your steward is moving on as they transition from Alaska to Hawaii.

I'm sorry the cruise didn't meet your expectations . I agree the steward should've known that you had three people in your suite. But to only list that you didn't get champagne and had to ask for a third glass seems strange . It's an easily fixed problem , which they did. Maybe cruising isn't for you.

We have had great experiences on the Star. Sometimes it is just having a poor room steward. It can happen on any cruise line. You can always cancel your gratuities and state why doing so. I have had some staff who clearly don't care but most are very good. Don't give up on Princess too quickly.
