Review summary

I think all Royal Caribbean cruises are great. I just love cruising. If you think about it, dollar for dollar, it is actually a good deal. I know if I take my wife and daughter to a classy hotel, enjoy swimming in the pool, playing bumper cars, the rock climbing wall, and all the other activities that are free on the ship, and have a really good breakfast, lunch, and take them to a high class restaurant for dinner, and then go to a first class show, I would probably spend more money per day that it costs me to go on the cruise.

Embarkation

Really easy, very organised.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Never disappointed with the food on Royal Caribbean ships.

Main Dining Rooms

5 out of 5

We usually eat breakfast and lunch in the windjammer, and have supper in the main dining room. The staff is always exceptional and make you feel as if you are in a first class restaurant.

Windjammer Café

5 out of 5

Love to go to the windjammer. So many different kinds of food, and always taste great. The only problem is finding a place to sit. We usually walk around and find a table first and then someone stays at the table to hold it while everyone else goes to get food. Then when someone gets back with their food, the one holding the table goes to get food. Works out pretty good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Always too much to do on cruise ships. You have to look at the daily activities and decide which ones to go to. Decisions, decisions. Hahaha.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I love the shows on Royal Caribbean Cruise ships. Top notch shows. Comedians, magicians, follies type dancing, musical routines, excellent shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service is always exceptional and the staff always seem willing to do whatever they have to, (within reason), to make the guests happy and comfortable.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Royal Caribbean Cruise ships always seem to be clean and well maintained. They must have a crew that works all night to make sure all the lights and everything else is operating and working properly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We always get the standard balcony. Got the large balcony once but decided it is not worth the extra money. The cabin is usually clean and well maintained. It is not really large, but adequate, with plenty of cabinet space, so you can unpack and hang the hanging clothes and put the rest in drawers. There is also a safe where you can put your valuables and important papers.

Ports of call

Penang (Pulau Pinang), Malaysia

4 out of 5
We went on the funicular railway excursion. Primarily so my daughter could experience a train. It was ok, but not that great for the money.

Phuket, Thailand

4 out of 5
Ok, but nothing exceptional. Took the city bus tour to the temple and Cashew factory. Then stopped to buy souvenirs. Have taken this tour about 3 times now. Hahaha.

Singapore

4 out of 5
Didn't do anything in Singapore, just took a Grab car to the cruise terminal from the airport.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We always just take a carry on, so we can just walk off the ship about 7 or 7:30. No need to go to the waiting area and wait for your color to be called to disembark.
