Review summary

I`ve done an Asian cruise with another carrier. It was more pleasant. RCCL might have fancy big ships but the basic services are poor. They need to think of passengers comfort. We paid too much to be disappointed

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Painful. You register and complete your paper work online, then you go to 3 check points and at the end they hand you a printed form that you already have in your app. 1 hour embarkation procedure

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Buffet was overcrowded. Some passengers were eating standing up. There was an announcement to vacate their table if finished so others may eat. Line to dining rooms are long. Even if you have a scheduled time you still have to wait in line for 30 min. If you want a certain course you pay. i.e lobster, steak. Lining up felt like Thanksgiving

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
too crowded in the pool

Entertainment

3 out of 5
A special show you have to reserve and pay.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Dining room manager unaccommodating. We missed our dining time because the shore excursion returned late. Did not even look around for a space. We were told to come back after 1 hour. I can't believe they will make their gust go hungry

Ship Quality

4 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Too tight for balcony. Once sofa bed is laid out you cannot move past the bed

Ship tip

If it is bound for Asia it is a petri dish for communicable disease. RCCL does not care about comfort and safety

Ports of call

Singapore

Penang was awful

Penang (Pulau Pinang), Malaysia

there is nothing to taste in the 'Taste of Penang' excursion. you get ti sip something. then they take you to a place where you may eat but do not take cards but local currency. you end up going hungry

Phuket, Thailand

I don’t think they expect their cruisers to go hungry as there are many many places one can eat … however when folks are late for their time slot for any reason and they were to seat them then it would just snowball and everyone else would then have to eat past their time slot instead of just those that are late ….
