Seabourn Legend

7 Night Florence & Bella Italia (Monte Carlo To Rome)

Sail date: August 26, 2011

Ship: Seabourn Legend

Cabin type: Suite

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 13 years ago

Review summary

The Legend is showing her age. There were stains and cracks in the bathroom marble, linens were frayed and scratchy, the bed was lumpy, furnishings were scratched and dented. Wines were not "premium"; i.e., Santa Margherita was served as the white and was poured throughout the meal unless a red was requested. We were in a lower price cabin category, but I think it is reasonable to expect a better experience for $1200 a day. We paid considerably less for a better cabin in '09, which comparatively was an exceptional experience.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was the best part of the experience; however, we found bugs crawling up the sides of bowl when served granola.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We frequently had to reorder items because restaurant staff forgot to place the order, we'd wait up to 30 minutes between courses, room service seldom answered the phone, items like towles, ice, glasses, drinks were not restocked in common areas such as whirlpool, sundeck, gym.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Finding your way around the ship was a constant struggle. Perhaps signage would help.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The hand blown crystal is a nice touch when it is replaced.

Pros: The food

Cons: Service
