It took 5 days to get a table reservation, and that was due to passengers helping us, not the crew.It took multiple calls to pursars desk to get the TV some attention, it was never fixed correctly, and except for the advertisements for the ships products, most channels would not 'come in'The wait stafff seemed to be all in training, it took almost 2 1/2 hours to get dinner one evening.Cleaning was very spotty, the Cruise director helped a friend of ours get their cabin cleaned, ours was never was. This was a cruise in May 2011, & this time should be avoided in future, perhpas later in the season things will be better.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Service was very slow. There is less 'standard' fare than there used to be. We waited in lines sometimes for 1/2 hour to be told to come back several hours later. This was with 'anytime dining'.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The Sea Princess has a staff of musicians, and dancers, and they were OK.The alternate entertainment were not very good, jugglers, an older comedian/singer was soso, etc. The head of entertainment came out in a tutu one night, and that was pretty funny. Most of the movies that they showed were several years old.The 'events' like captains greetings were not very well planned, so there was more lines & waiting. The 'classes' were very few, and there was only one lecture about nature, as well as sales pitches for body building & spa treatments.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Nice facilities.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
When one got a commitment for service, which took some doing, you got a little improvement, but not nearly enough. We were told several times by crew personnel, Just have another Drink ,and your problems will not seem so severe.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Cabin crews began to clean up all the public areas after the US Public Health boarded the ship due to multiple people being taken off in strethers due to Norvo virus(?sp) We were not quarantined, so it never got that bad, but many many people were sick on the cruise.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
WE had a flat screen TV, it did not work much of the time, but it was realtively new. The cabin attendant could not use the vacuum cleaner due to sickness on the ship, so the floor was to be avoided at all costs.
Pros: We left & returned with no safety issues
Cons: Food, Service,Servers,Entertainment,TV,Passing the buck by crew members
