Excellent food and facilities. Bathroom was a little small. Didn’t like the fact that when you went somewhere that was an hour ahead, the ship’s time remained the same as where you embarked so in my case UK time. This just got all very confusing with ship time and shore time
Embarkation

They are very strict with times but the process was quite smooth
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was the best cruise ship food I’ve ever had and everything was included in the price (with the exception of some of the higher end items on the menu such as lobster). The Galley had really good choices and was like a food court. Really good noodles, breakfast bentos, salads and bread. Soft drinks were also free. They also had a snack bar with fudge, cake, sweets, popcorn. There was even a free ice cream bar (not soft serve) but proper ice cream with lots of different flavours!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The pools were really small & there are some missing traditional cruising activities like table tennis, corn in hole, line dancing etc. instead Virgin had a twist on these activities such as a boy bands dance class where you get to learn an iconic 90s boy band dance routine to paddle ball. There was of course bingo, your usual casino and gym & spa. They did have quizzes but with a naughty twist. There were plenty of board games too.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We went during comedy fest so we had a lot of comedians each night but virgin still laid on their usual shows. Both set of shows were great. Only downside is that the Red Room the main theatre is quite small.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The Happenings Cast were all great but the rest of the crew not so much. They were not as friendly and smiley as on some other cruise ships. The staff in the restaurants were mostly very friendly. The hostesses at the restaurant receptions were cold and unwelcoming and this was the same for each restaurant we went to. Also as Virgin provides their staff with free internet I found that the staff were on their phones a lot.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was very clean but as Virgin does thing differently do not expect grand staircases and atrium. It is quite the opposite. The cabin corridors also reminded me of Virgin Atlantic’s airplane cabins with the purple lighting.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This room was quiet and was good location for the Galley as it was located at the back of the ship. The cabin can sleep up to 3 ppl.
Ship tip
Book your restaurant reservations as soon as they open so you don’t have to worry about where to eat or lack of reservations once on board
Thank you for your review. Yes, it’s always safe to stick with ship time. We purposely take an old timex so we always stay on ship time while we’re in port.
