Review summary

Just returned from a short break on Resilient Lady. Our final invoice was for $55 which was charged to our card but we now find £189.72 has been taken out of our bank account. Family travelling with us had an invoice for $18 but have also had the same amount deducted . Has anyone else had this?

It’s the hold charge. I was on the same trip. They sent an email before disembarking to explain the charge. Usually takes a few days to be refunded.

That may be a hold and not a charge. £189.72 is right around $250 US which is a nice round number. This, combined with your friend seeing the same amount makes it very much sound like a hold. Many cruise lines will do this (at least in the US) basically to make sure you have funds or credit to cover likely onboard spend. You should see it fall off and be replaced with the actual invoice charge. If you're not sure, call your bank and ask. They can confirm if it's just a hold or not.
