Review summary

No heat for the entire cruise in my room. Terrible food. Cunard is trading on an image of the distant past. Lectures were excellent. Very very disappointed. So much so I've written and asked for compensation. This was so bad as to be offensive. First night I waited 90 minutes for a slice of chicken spam. Left to get room service. I can't upload photos because their website is not working.

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food was bland and tasted poorly. The food was often mislabeled, containing fish and shellfish to which I am allergic. Very dangerous.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
English comprehension of many staff was none. Not only did they not know the answer to the question. "What's in this dish?" they couldn't understand the question. Another, "May I sit over there?" they ignored me and took me wherever they wanted to take me.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Outside of ship at right rear corner smelled of urine the entire trip.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
No heat the entire trip. I complained five times. I was given a blanket.

We were on the same QM2 Eastbound TransAtlantic which left NY on 23rd May. Our experience was very different to that of the original poster. We found the food to be uniformly of a high standard given the circumstances in which it was served. During the crossing, we ate in the Brittania (breakfast and dinner), Verandah (lunch and dinner), Bamboo (dinner), La Piazza (dinner), Carinthia Lounge (lunch), King's Court Buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner), Room Service (breakfast) - all very good. Yes, on the first two nights, we found service was slow in Britannia (optional dining), but it improved as the crossing progressed.
