Was expecting more from Cunard. The public spaces on the ship were beautiful, which made the shabbiness of the cabin more difficult to tolerate. Food service was excellent, but the food itself needed a lot of improvement.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The dining times (first seating) were too close for participation in many activities like trivia and shows. The food was hit and miss in the dining room, and the lack of room service variety was terrible. The buffet was so-so. Not the quality I was expecting from a line with Cunard's reputation.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The ballroom dancing salvaged my cruise experience. Without it, I would have given a much lower rating for this trip. It was fun, educational, and filled with nice people - the Gentlemen hosts (Raymond, Rod, Mike, Bill, and Bill in particular) made sure all the single ladies had many opportunities to dance, and they did a great job leading beginners and experienced dancers alike. The professional instruction had variety and was not too complicated to remember. The dance team was friendly and the quality of the lessons was fantastic, despite the huge number of people attending.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
There was some staff confusion on removal of room service trays, leading to clutter. Noticed some guests left them in the hall, where they would sit for hours. The nicest staff members were the Gentlemen Dance Hosts. They supplemented dance lessons, and were helpful in learning & practicing what was reviewed in the classes with the professional dance team.
Ship Quality

The public areas and decor were wonderful and clean. Accessibility with a small scooter worked well, even without a wheelchair cabin.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
Size was ok, but the furnishings were scratched, linens/draperies/robes were stained, and the balcony looked industrial and quite dirty. Never used it. The bathroom was very cramped and tiles/shower walls were also stained.
Pros: The ballroom dancing was the best part of the journey
