Review summary

I will consider this an interim review because of the following reasons. 1st very large crew turnover due to USA rules preventing regular crew from working in the US. 2nd. The new hotel manager only been onboard 6 weeks. We have sailed on his ships before and he will make big changes on here. Boarding. Quick and easy, but get onboard and no music, no band, and no sail away party. NO ENRGY and a big let down. Excuse used was Sydney noise restrictions. Ship. Squeaky clean. Cleaner then most hospitals I have seek. Love the adults area up front. Main pool was very good but it had to be closed several times due to guests fouling it. Had a number of code Brown's and 1 case of a drunk fool using it as a barf bucket. Felt sorry for the crew. Dining room layout sucked. Without the MDR there was no polish. No.feeling of AWE. STUDIO270. NICE venue but way to crowded and not enough seats. Kids club. No idea, we left the tribe at home. Over all ship had no energy and no life. Almost as bad as a river cruise full of old people who go to bed by 7.30pm. Food. Not up to RCCL standard. 2 many repeat items every day and food didn't stand out like their other ships. Entertainment. Not good. No big show. Lineup of second rate performers with 1 exception. Piano player in the Scooner Bar was great. Go Paul. Room. Our room attendant was well and truly up to RCCL standard. He was great. We are booked back onboard in April next year, but if we had not already booked I would have looked at other options. Right now we can't wait for Voyager n November. RCCL has a lot of work to do to get this ship up to their usual standard. My advise. Pick one of RCCLs other ship classes, unless you are an accountant with no personality and like this type of holiday.

Moved our next cruise on Ovation on to Voyager instead. We love cruising with RCCL but have no intention of returning to a Quantium class ship.

I just returned from Maui . We had booked a dinner cruise. When we arrived in LaHaina we noticed the Ovation of the Sea anchored out from the dock . The had a huge Line of people waiting to be tendered back to ship . Some had been in line for up to 3 hours. Several said the ship was too big an too Many people. It holds over 4000. Can you imagine tendering all those people back to a ship. It was also very hot as they were standing in the sun. But it looked like a beautiful ship from the outside. Especially at night when it was all lit up.

Out of the different Royal Caribbean ships this one was one of my favorites. When I was on in November it was phenomenal. It's sad to hear you were so dissatisfied with the ship. I'll be back on in November and I expect to have as good as a time as last year if not better.

When I cruised on Ovation last year there were a few little things I found wrong. Kinda sucks that grown adults use the main pool as a toilet
