This was a 14-night transatlantic from Fort Lauderdale to Rome. Our first cruise on a Quantum-class ship. Amazing!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Fort Lauderdale is my least favorite cruise port, but on this occasion we did not experience the amount of unnecessary issues with security and staff as we have in the past.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Despite the length of this transatlantic cruise, we only ate twice at specialty restaurants. The excellent service and food at the main dining room made specialty restaurants unnecessary. Late night pizza was always amazing!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Jamie, our cruise director, was engaging and present throughout the ship. But what made this cruise highly enjoyable was the Facebook page manager, “Ronaldo Verde”, who made a number of enjoyable and engaging events in addition to the ship’s official activities.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
“The Book” is the showcase entertainment on this cruise, but it may be an acquired taste for some. The comedian was very entertaining as well.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We had a very good room steward, the main dining room staff was excellent, and the casino bar staff, especially Kumar, were the best we’ve worked with on any ship.

Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This was a casino comp cruise, and when we booked we asked about the cost to upgrade from OV to a balcony, and we were quoted $65! I wish all of my decisions were that easy. Great room. I only wish we were on the port side instead of starboard, only because we passed Gibraltar at night to the south. But the views of northern Africa early in the morning were spectacular!
Ship tip
Always ask for the price of an upgrade when booking, esp if you have an OV or interior cabin.
We will be going on our first 14 day transatlantic cruise from New Jersey on this same ship and are super excited. Any tips or things you wished you would have done differently? Did you book guides while at any ports?
