We had such a great time overall! We can’t wait until our next cruise!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
This was the easiest embarkation, ever! I was mentally ready for a lengthy process. We parked the car, walked into the building, they made sure we had our passports, vaccination cards and negative tests then they gave us our bracelets. We moved forward walked up to the next line, the employee basically looked at the same documents and checked us in while we were standing there. She used an iPad, it literally took minutes, next thing we know we are on the ship! I have cruised with Royal many, many, many times before and I was surprised on how efficient this was.
Ship experiences
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Every time we wanted to go to the pool we went to the solarium. It was relaxing and has AC!
We went to a lot of trivia, we’re not that good but we have a good time doing it! And some other puzzle games etc, it was fun!
There was a lot to do for different folks. The app works well to plan, book things and keep track of your daily calendar.
You can’t prebook some of the activities so I suggest doing it when you get on board on day 1 if you can. Once everyone figures out they have to book things the availability becomes scarce for some of the events.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The book: Seven Chapters, One Adventure: we really enjoyed this show. The technology they use is really cool. It’s in Two70 and takes up the whole back of the venue. The contortionist was incredible! We highly suggest this.
Rookie: many people recommended this headliner show. We were very pleased with it. They were really good and entertaining! They play rock and roll hits.
Hector is Magic: it was ok, it was something to do.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone seemed real happy to be there. They were super attentive. When I had questions and they didn’t know the answers they would call to get them or get someone to help me. It didn’t feel like everyone was “new” on the ship even though this was the third sailing. Everyone greeted you no matter where you were.
Ship Quality

Can’t go wrong with a brand new ship!! Everything was new and super clean. There was always employees sanitizing.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The room was very nice! Easily accessible to the stairs (we don’t use the elevators). Since it’s on the 8 th deck it’s easy to go up or down, you’re kind of in the middle. It was nice to have two closets and two sinks in the bathroom (his and hers). The bed was very comfortable.
It was cool to use the app on our phones to open the door, control the blinds, lights and AC!
It was nice to have a divider between the room that had the bed and the living area, I was able to go to sleep earlier while my husband kept watching tv in the other room.
The balcony was a nice size and it had sitting chairs, lounging chairs and a table.
There’s plenty of storage and plenty of plugs to charge devices.
We liked the shampoo, conditioner and body wash that was provided in the room.
Ship tip
We weren’t able prebook any of the shows or activities ahead of the cruise so you have to do it on board. On day 1 I knew I wanted to book my dining for my dine package and get the muster drill done asap then chilax. I like to plan everything ahead of time and then not worry about anything while on board. I didn’t realize all the things I needed to reserve until later. We were not too picky, we did what events we could and didn’t worry about the rest! I suggest looking at what activities you really want to do and get them reserved. Of course the longer you wait the more limited the availability. There is social distancing every where! So it limits the seating availability. Another change that I noticed was how much they want you to use the Royal app, once we got on board with this concept, the app is super helpful to plan, book, maintain your daily calendar and provides information about all the restaurants, the ship etc, you just have to carry your phone with you. You don’t have to use the app, they will provide paper menus, you can still carry the cruise compass with you and you can always stop at guest services to get assistance in getting anything booked.
I’m so glad you got to go this time and that you enjoyed yourselves 😊. We don’t sail until
June but your review gives me hope after so many cancelled cruises!
Hi nucfuel,
Happy to answer any questions! I know I had a lot before I went on this cruise (especially related to what would be new with the restart). The suite we had only had one bathroom but it had two sinks and the tub and shower are one (your standing in the tub while you’re taking a shower).
We are looking into booking the 1 BR Grand Suite for our anniversary and am hoping you could answer a couple of about this cabin. Does it have a separate room for the toilet (like in some junior suites) or is it in the bathroom? Also is there a separate shower stall and tub? Thanks
