Would recommend this cruise, Dubai was a bucket list place for me and I am very glad I have seen it. I plan to come back in a few years once they have completed the new tallest building in the world.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
It was OK but Dubai airport is massive so it took nearly 3 hours to go through immigration & to collect the luggage
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The restaurant as always was brilliant and catered for my dietary requirements really well, we didn't do any speciality dining this time so cannot comment. The buffet did get quite busy and if you left it late you where not always able to get the food you wanted.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
My husband used the fitness centre and said it was very good but he would of liked it opening earlier on port days (opened at 0800)
Entertainment
We didn't see any shows by choice not because there was anything wrong with the entertainment
Children's Programs
No children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
As always with P & O the staff and the service is wonderful, they will do anything to try and make your cruise a little easier if required. The always say hello when walking by on deck which is a nice touch.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Oceana is a lovely ship and very clean and easy to negotiate. I don't think it is the best laid out ship I personally don't like the buffet at the top front of the ship but that is a personal preference.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
It would have been better leaving as 2 single beds as there would have been more space but we requested queen layout so this meant it was very close to the wardrobes and bedside units at the end of the bed and when you turned the lights off it was pitch black and quite hard to negotiate. The bathroom was quite spacious as we where the last cabin at the AFT of the ship. Room clean as always, Bosco our cabin steward was very nice and helpful.
Loved Dubai, such an amazing place so much going on and so much to see, would recommend going to Dubai mall see the aquarium and if you go after 1800 see the fountains under the Burj Khalifa.
Went to the Grand Mosque and the Fort, it was brilliant and beautiful, make sure at the Mosque if you are a lady, to cover up with long sleeves that cover ALL your arm and nothing transparent and take a head scarf otherwise they will not let you in.
Lovely up and coming port, a little unorganised when trying to get a shuttle bus back to the boat, took us 3 attempts to get on a bus. The Souq was a real treat but very busy.
Not a lot to do as this a new destination. Khasab only really had souvenir shops, it would have been better to do an excursion, we where told that the Fjords where breathtaking and you got to see dolphins.
Not P & O 's fault somebody else took our case so had to hang around until all the cases had been claimed (or not) then we where the last people to get to departures. As said Dubai airport is massive so it takes a long time to get to the gate so didn't get time to have a look round.
