In summary, Oasis is a big ship. I was so excited to see and sail on her but to be honest, I guess I prefer a slightly smaller ship because I wasn’t as impressed as I thought I would be. Maybe if I would have done more activities but just getting away on our first cruise since the pandemic made it worthwhile. If big ships are your thing, you will enjoy Oasis of the Seas.
Embarkation

Everything was smooth until we got to the security check in the terminal. The entire line was held up for one person’s luggage to be gone through instead of pulling that person aside.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Overall, the food was great. Main dining room was excellent especially lobster night. I was able to make mine surf and turf by adding a NY strip steak. Windjammer could have had a bigger variety of food given the size of the ship and number of passengers. The Solarium Bistro was a great place for breakfast and Johnny Rockets was excellent for breakfast, too.

Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
No real activities except the pool and hot tub but then that’s all I needed! Watched lots of folks play pickle ball which was very popular
Entertainment

Only saw comedians and Aqua 80 show but, WOW! The performances in the aqua show were outstanding! Enjoyed the Caribbean band, too
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our wait staff Armando and Santosh were wonderful. Very funny head waiter Sydney visited our table every night. Our room steward Jesmon was very thorough and sweet. He was always ready to unlock my door before I could reach for my key. The bartenders at Lime and Coconut and Playmakers were quick and made the best drinks.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Beautiful ship, so much to see! Always cleaning and doing small maintenance jobs but ship could use some paint and refurbishment. Some bathrooms were messy but quickly cleaned.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was clean and comfortable. Bed was great if you like a softer mattress. Only complaint is the size for such a large ship - my husband and I had a tough time maneuvering together in our room. Balcony was good.
Ship tip
Book shows as soon as you get on the ship if you didn’t prebook. Also, go to Johnny Rockets for breakfast (no extra charge and less crowded) - you do pay a small charge for lunch and dinner.
Could not have gone smoother! From the time our tag number was called, picking up our luggage and getting through customs, we were off the ship within 15 minutes!
We’ve sailed on oasis of the seas twice and my family and I just absolutely love the bigger ships. But they’re not for everyone. I’m glad to hear you still had a good time though!
