Review summary

Cabin 12508. My wife and I bid $200 apiece on an upgrade from a mini-suite to a family suite and were surprised to get the upgrade. It was well worth the extra $; our stateroom had a sitting area, large picture windows, and a bathroom with full tub and separate shower. We had a butler who was on call 24/7 and were entitled to special breakfast and lunch service in a specialty restaurant. We also had head-of-line privileges for disembarking ship for shore excursions and at end of cruise. Overall we were very pleased with the cruise although were disappointed with some of the dining options. Cagney steakhouse and le Bistro French restaurant were very good, but our experiences at la Cucina and Versailles dining room were less than memorable. Aqua dining room was OK with nicer decor and roomier feel than Versailles. In our experience, We would rate Royal Caribbean ships better for dining venues as well as overall food quality. We also like the RC lounges and theatre better than those on Norwegian Star. However the ship’s staff were all very friendly and professional, and we would consider future cruises on Norwegian.
