Norwegian Star

7 Night Western Caribbean (Tampa Roundtrip)

Sail date: February 07, 2016

Ship: Norwegian Star

Cabin type: Oceanview

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Review summary

Was not told about the 13.50 per person per day charge. We received the bill the last day of the cruise. Huge disappointment and a big chunk of change for a 7 day cruise.

Research ALL cruise ships charge you it

whatkins    8 years ago

I wasn't calling you cheap but the original poster

Not being cheap. I'm new at this and dont want OBC to be wasted. I will still leave additional gratuities for individual staff as well

TeresaC1963    8 years ago

Obc is used towards your final bill due. Yes it can include tips. The staff will still get their tips.

I don't think you can use on board credit....we get cheaper prices on cruise because the room steward and dinning staff rely on tips...don't be so cheap people

I didnt prepay gratuities. I was hoping to use OBC for them. Is that allowed, or no?

Ffrurtle21    8 years ago

That's a norm.

This is gonna be my first cruise. Did my research prepaid my gratuities. SMH

It will be on your boarding pass documents. Was it your first cruise?

TeresaC1963    8 years ago

Research pays dividends. It doesn't make much to know about the gratuities. It's one of the most transparent fees of any cruise line.

MrsOneal    8 years ago

I prepaid my gratuities :)

All cruise lines do this.

What was the charge for? Gratuities?

gaylenesmith969    8 years ago

It is in the section of FAQ on every cruise line site! As well they usually include it in the section of what you need to know!!

gutterrick    8 years ago

They usually take it before you get on the ship
