Review summary

Overall the ship was beautiful. the layout was very easy to learn. the ships decor was very nice. the music by the pool was irritating. the musicians didn't really sing they just kept repeating the same phrases over and over again. it would be nice to have a place that you can swim without having to listen to the band. Towards the end of the cruise. the ship had a very strong human waste odor. this odor seemed to be located towards the aft of the ship. Casino. we love to gamble but because smoking was allowed in the casino, we walked into the casino and walked out and never returned for the entire cruise. please consider a smoke free casino for future cruises.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
the food quality and selection was excellent

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Evening shows were awesome. pool side music was horrible. the Java cafe had great music. Variety of activities seemed to be lacking. Some activities that we would have loved to partake in were only offered when the ship was in port during the day, while we were out enjoying the port.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most people were friendly. we did have a few folks that just seemed to be bothered by the guests. for instance when booking dinner reservations the lady was really bothered and short with our request. our room Stewart was wonderful. she was very attentive and sweet. the restaurant staff was always nice, and professional, especially the staff at Cagneys. the folks at Park West were very professional. Java Cafe was very nice. the shows were top notch.

Cabin / Stateroom

taff the shower/bath area was very nice. the bed was horrible, i noticed that there was 3 foam pads on the bed to try to compensate for the bad mattress. my wife and i left the ship with sore backs. i realize that we choose the less expensive room, but NCL really needs to upgrade their mattresses.

Pros: the choice of eating establishments" Free Style Cruising"

Cons: the impersonal interaction of the food serving staff in the main dining facilities.
