Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food in the Aqua Restaurant 1st night out was marginal at best. Is this a deliberate ploy to encourage the optional dining with surcharge? Jazz Brunch 1st full day at sea was excellent. (surcharge applied). LeBistro and LaCucina also excellent- surcharge-- (but too much food). Liked the fact that Blue Lagoon was open 24 hours as another option. For Buffet lovers, the Market Cafe had a very nice selection.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff overall was excellent. Dining supervisor was outstanding as well as bar staff in Gatsby's. Drinks very pricey--but guess they have to make up for the discounted prices on the cruise.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Public areas of the ship were clean and well maintained. I found it easy to get around (but had been on this ship for 2 weeks several years ago.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Stateroom was a little crowded--had to walk single file around the bottom of the beds. Liked the shower door concept in bath. Beds good. Couch could stand some refurbishing as well as balcony deck pretty worn.

Pros: Many dining options

Cons: Food the 1st night in Aqua dining room marginal at best(-did not dine there again.

Recommends Norwegian Star? No.
