Review summary

The ship itself was great. It was in very good overall condition. We had a mini-suite (Class AF) which exceeded our expectations. The balcony was a good choice for this cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The food was simply weird. Green vegetables were not to be had. Spices were way overdone. Salads were poor and served on hot, hot plates. Cagney's was OK but would the business would fail on shore. The national chain steakhouses are better. Biggest problem was that the food was generally not hot. Requests as to things like the doneness of meat were often wasted effort. You got what they prepared - take it or leave it. Hints to NCL: dinner rolls can be served warm; toast should be hot, eggs should not be served cold and I did not need to see prime rib served 1/4" thick.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Entertainment was pure six flags. We have been to Lake Tahoe several times. Tahoe is a rung below Vegas. The NCL entertainment is no where near that good.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Trying to keep up probably best describes it. The staff was well-intentioned but struggled with language issues, especially the Eastern Europeans. One women, whose sole job was to serve toast, thought you could warm it up by toasting it some more. We were simply trying to get fresh, at least warm toast.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
As stated the ship was good

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Stateroom exceeded expectations

Pros: Good clean ship in good condition

Cons: Food was simply weird. Service was spotty at best
