Review summary
Having experienced multiple cruises in the past on the Norwegian Majesty from Boston, the Freestyle Cruising concept was not as good an experience for us as the traditional cruise style previously offered by NCL. It was just a little bit too casual and hurried for us, being used to the relaxed and lighthearted service and joking we enjoyed when the service staff wasn't so hurried (we would arrive at our same table every evening 8:30 seating) to find our wait staff waiting for us and the table covered in origami animals and/or other special touches. We did feel the food was very good this time, very continental and the smaller portion size was a plus where we didn't leave feeling stuffed to the gills. With an appetizer, soup, entree and dessert, it was more than enough. Didn't care for constant requests to be seated with other parties, although I am sure we would have enjoyed their company, but there were six in our party and we preferred a table for six.Ports of call
Pros: Most of the meals in the Seven Seas dining room
Cons: Hour-long waits on busy evenings (Monday, Saturday) for dining room seating
Recommends Norwegian Majesty? Yes!
