Sail date: July 09, 2006

Ship: Norwegian Majesty

Cabin type: Oceanview

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

Nice small ship with friendly staff except for air conditioning service personnel who would not agree that 77-78degrees is uncomfortableand who could not or would not fixthe problem, so we spent every night in a sweat! We paid for an ocean view but had to keep the curtains closed to avoid more heat coming into the room;were asked to even keep our lights out to avoid more heat in the room. Ridiculous!!! Don'task for room 427 if you expect to have a nice cabin climate!!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Super selection of entree choices and a great buffet, with good food- not junk food or leftovers! Hours for the buffet could be longer, so just be aware of opening asnd closing times....However, great room service which many cruisers don't realize is FREE, too! Free-style seating and times for eating in dining rooms is the reason we come back again and again to Norwegian. It makes the whole trip hassle-free.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Super nice cruise director and two of the funniest comedians we have seen on ANY cruise! The dancers and singersgroup was samll and productions not spectacular, butokay!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
There appears to be too few people servicing the common areas, but room steward and foodservice people are great. Be ware of the restaurant manager of the Four Seasons who is a bit haughty of attire he doesn'tfeel satisfactory, even thought it maymeet their generous guidelines.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very nice, subtle decor, easy to find facilities and a lovely smaller theatrethan most big cruise ships!

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Climate control was horrible. Our room never cooled down to anything less than 77 degrees, even at night! Over five visits from maintenance and the ship's management did not solve the problem. Eventually, we demanded monetary compensation or a room switch, but we were only offered $200 ship credit.

Ports of call

St. George's, Bermuda

5 out of 5
The very best in laid back, oldworld charm without the hustle andbustle of vendors and stores in Hamilton.Friendliest people...would come here again and again, skipping the Caribbean! (Avoid thecandlight walking tour- a rip off with a 30 minutes stop at a perfume factory where they just pressureyou to buy their products!)
Don't Miss: Castle Island snorkel trip on the Sun Deck II- shore excursions with Norwegian.

Pros: beutiful threedays in St Georges Bermuda

Cons: cabin heat- inadequate air conditioning and no solutions
