Having been on other Norwegian ships, I had lowered my expectations for the Dream, knowing that this was a smaller, older ship. But it was still great. The layout was easier (although a little odd in places,) and being on a smaller ship was a nice change. The service was a little spotty in places, but still above what you'd get in any local restaurant. Due to high winds, we were unfortunately unable to dock in St. George's, and instead ended up in Hamilton. We visited St. George's, though, and loved it. Bermuda's fantastic - it's easy to get around on the buses, and just a nice place to wander. The beaches are wonderful, with their powder-fine sand and blue, blue water. (Food and shops ARE amazingly expensive in Bermuda, though.) Even with a windy, overcast week, it was a fun trip.

A lot of reviews say the food was bad, but I'm betting those people mostly ate at the buffets. The food at the restaurants was generally outstanding. There were always great selections, and most of the food was notably delicious. The buffets, on the other hand, were small, with little variety, and not as tasty. One trick, though - while the buffet desserts were all basically mousse variations, the coffee bar on Deck 9 always had cookies (free!)
Entertainment

Windy and wet weather prevented them from holding some of the on-deck parties, but the ones they did have were fun and entertaining. Jane L. Powell, the singer they had one night, was outstanding - far above the talent you'd expect on a cruise ship. The nights in port, most people were off the ship, so there weren't as many activities those nights.
Service and Staff

The room staff was incredible. They were friendly, never in the way, and did a terrific job. They must even keep track of when you leave, because they had a knack for cleaning or turning down the room when you weren't there. Restaurant staff could get a little spotty if you were there just before the restaurant was closing, but given how hard they all work, that's understandable.
Ship Quality

The smaller size didn't bother me like I thought it would. Some of the public areas got a little crowded, like the decks and the lounges, but it wasn't too difficult. The pool on the deck was tiny, which was strange. Sometimes you had to go through odd places to get where you were going. Like you have to go through the casino to get to the theater, or sometimes through the main dining room to get to the elevators. There unfortunately aren't many balcony cabins on the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our oceanview stateroom was a pretty standard room. No complaints. There was plenty of room for an additional pullout sofa, which was nice, and the window was a pretty good size.
Due to inclement weather, we actually docked in Hamilton, which was a shame because St. George's is so nice. Hamilton was fine - there were plenty of shops and restaurants and sights. Again, because of the weather, the Tuesday night street festival I was looking forward to was cancelled. St. George's is so quaint and beautiful, though. We visited and loved exploring around the historic town. Bermuda itself is fantastic. The island is pretty everywhere, people are friendly, and the beaches are wonderful
