Ship experiences
Food and Dining

We’ve been on many cruise ships and MSC had the BEST pizzas! They had deep dish and regular crusts. Buffet had a nice variety (would have liked to seen more Indian dishes) but was always jammed crowded.
Main dining room was nice with great service.
Wasn’t too fond of the Mexian specialty restaurant. Maybe because my son in law is a chef from Mexico and we’ve had authentic.

Cabin / Stateroom

The steward was very nice but I wonder if maybe he was new.
We were on a b2b and never received an introduction from him (a neighbor steward told us his name). On most ships, they leave a card with their name and a list for requests.
Week one we were never told about laundry. We had an ice bucket but never offered ice.
Week two, I wrote a note requesting ice and then it was brought every day. I researched online and found the prices for laundry and asked him for the “special form” and received it a few days later (end of second week). You really have to ask for things and if you don’t know you won’t get them.
Other than that, all was good.
Ship tip
Come with lots of patience. The crew, captain and Director and all the staff are wonderful but the guests are very different culture wise. If you expect smiles and politeness, forget it. If you plan on eating at the buffet, just know shoving is a thing with some European folks (not all) and waiting your turn in lines isn’t a thing with them. If you’re an American, you’re going to be the minority so again, have patience. This is an Italian cruise line. Do your research.
A complete mess but not the fault of the crew.
We did the self assist (leaving with our own luggage) and people were pushing and shoving and not wishing to adhere to being in an orderly line. It’s the culture of the type of folks who are the majority on MSC (an Italian line). We had this same experience in Italy on Costa. They were the same at the buffet.
