Review summary

We were already booked on the Marco Polo again in October, and now having been on it for the first time are not dis-appointed to be on it again - lovely ship, lovely staff, great food (If you like a drink, get the all inclusive CMV Premium package - well worth it)

Embarkation

5 out of 5
One of the slickest embarkations I have experienced - well done

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food excellent, staff very friendly

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not as active as other ships we have been on, it was limited

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Not as good as other ships we have been on, less “non stage show” than other ships, and I suppose a factor would be also lack of audience participation, but maybe due to older audience

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Couldn’t fault this, excellent on all levels

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
You couldn’t fault the presentation of the ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5

Ship tip

It is a smaller ship, only 1 level of public area’s (except Scott’s bar), limited entertainment, so take a book or 3

Ports of call

Hull

1 out of 5
Explored Hull before embarkation, not great I have to say - the port was for embarkation / disembarkation and is a commercial ferry port, that’s it

Lerwick

5 out of 5
Shall but picturesque - friendly people

Klaksvik, Faroe Islands

2 out of 5
Picturesque but nothing there, especially on a Sunday (whole town was closed, busiest place was the petroleum station)

Thorshaven

3 out of 5
Again, picturesque & whilst more there than Klaksvik - not by much, quaint grassed roofed houses

Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland

2 out of 5
Bigger than Torshaven, but again quite small - also picturesque, nice town centre, enjoyed the visit to the Gin Distillery

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

4 out of 5
Did not see Invergordon as we went to Inverness - some beautiful scenery on the edge of town in Inverness

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
