I agree that carnivals Buffet is bad but they do have so many other options onboard, especially on the Mardi Gras.

Would need to know more about your circumstance for advise on price drops. There are may restrictions/rules to be aware of. Not all fares have price protection. Most notebly, the fact it may change your booking promo and you may owe a larger deposit than what has been paid. They don't always catch it and will cancel for failure to pay. Had one cancel for $5 as a credit distribution wasn't moved properly. Luckily TA handled it.

Last minute bookings got better deals because people have been canceling due to COVID and maybe the rules. Sometimes that happens. The benefits of being retired and be able to book things last minute to take advantage of open categories. It sometimes it doesn’t work either and last minute bookers pay a much higher price.
