Review summary

We had cruised with Princess Cruises before so had great expectations for this Cruise across The Tasman.

We were unlucky to strike a week where the weather was terrible and we were cruising through 5-6m swells.

We had a group traveling with us and we had a total of five rooms. One of our guests had water in their room for the entire Cruise. The carpet was totally saturated and the staff were not interested in helping at all. This room was not fit for purpose.

Another party in our group had two young children and they were given a room with bunks that unfolded from the ceiling but these were unable to be used by children under the age of around 8. This meant the parents woke the kids up everytime they got in and out of bed because the children had to sleep in the bed below.

Due to the bad weather everybody sat around in the bars, most of them not drinking so when we wanted to go to a bar for a drink we were unable to. Again the staff had no interest in assisting us.

We paid for Internet for the whole cruise but on the second day the satelite stopped working. The staff would not refund the cost of the internet.

The food in the Anytime dining areas was well below average and the Buffet was horrible. The only restaurant with great food was the Crown Grill.

It was unfortunate that we struck bad weather but it was the condition of the boat and the unwillingness of many of the staff to help with things that made the journey unpleasant.

Totally agree. Apparently it is always a rough crossing. Not impressed the travel agent didn't mention this beforehand. Paid extra for balconies, which we were unable to use for safety reasons, pools were emptied- again because of safety, activities cancelled, nightclub closed - again because of safety. If I ever cruise again, it will NOT be with Princess, and it will only be around a coastline.
