One Excellent Time on the Pacific Ocean

Sail Date: September 26, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Ship is beautiful and spacious. Very unique with two theaters but the main theater has no balcony. Arrive early to see the show you want to see as the seats fill up fast. Lots of entertainment all around the ship as well as activities for every interest. Cruise director staff was excellent and very funny people. Takes about two days to learn the layout of the ship as the saying \"you can't get there from here\" applies to some areas of the ship until you learn the layout.

Pros: Tons of Activities\, Best Wait Staff Ever\, Beautiful Destinations

Cons: Head Maitre' D

Recommends Golden Princess? Yes!

Ship Quality
Ship was kept very clean although I found that a lot of times that the public restrooms frequently ran out of handsoap. Not a problem as an ample supply of hand sanitizer was readily available about the ship.
Food and Dining
Buffet choices were very nice and food was plentiful. Helpful waite staff to get your drinks and would even assist in finding a place to sit and carry your plate.
We ate at anytime dining and had the best waiter and assistant waiter we had ever experienced aboard any cruise ship. Our every expectation was met or exceeded. There was nothing more they could have possibly accomplished to make us happier.
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was well laid out with more than adequate shelf space and a very large hanging area for clothes. Bathroom was typically small but our balcony was unusally large. Our room steward kept the room spotless and we always found fresh ice in the refrigerator whenever we returned to the room.
Service and Staff
We found every staff member with the exception of the Maitre' D to be very friendly\, professional\, and eager to assist with anything we requested. By the end of the cruise it felt like the staff were more like helpful friends than strangers paid to do a job.
So much to do that the most difficult part of the sea days were to figure out what to do first and at what time. The Cruise Director staff were wonderful and the best part of all was there were no announcements made during the day by the cruise director. If you have cruised before on other lines\, you know how irritating that can become when the cruise director yells into the PA system so loud that your ears can bleed. Daily activities were laid out in the daily newsletter and all one had to do was read it to discover a treasure of activities happening aboard ship.
