The Explorer of the Seas

Sail Date: October 09, 2015

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The cruise was very relaxing and I was impressed at how smooth all the days at sea were. Been on many cruises with different cruise lines and usually there is at least one not so smooth sea day. I was glad that Captain did the safe thing and did not go to Israel, however we were very disappointed. They kept us well informed on what was going on both with not going to Israel and what we needed to do if there was a pirate attack. The excursions that we took were good and informative. The disembarkation was not pleasant.

it is a worthwhile cruise to take. We enjoyed Dubai and stayed a couple of days before we flew home. We could have used at least a couple of more days.

Cabin / Stateroom
The cabin was nice and it was always in good order. The steward was always friendly and helpful.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
They had people that were taking tours and people that were getting off the ship together in the theater. They called out the numbers for the tours, but not for disembarking. Told to sit anywhere and the number would be called. Second time we asked told not time for us to leave. Third time didn't know what number, but it would be called out. So far all we had heard was for the tour. We finally decided to leave and when we went to collect our luggage we found that our number had been called a long time ago. Also to disembark they had you go up a flight of stairs and then down a flight of stairs with very little direction to where you should go.
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
I leave a straight face only because we were not able to go to Israel. I know it wasn't the cruise line's fault, but it was disappointing.
Onboard Activities
Food and Dining
Barcelona, Spain
Souda (Chania), Crete
Ashdod, Israel
Didn't get to go because of the unrest. Sad face is for people not being able to live together peacefully.
Aqaba (Petra), Jordan
Dubai, U.A.E.
