Review summary

All of the staff that we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. The ship was nicely decorated and the Promanade was a really nice touch. Unfortunately, the weather was very bad for 80% of the trip. First time in 18 years a hurricane hit Nova Scotia. The poor weather forced us to miss one port and most of the exected autumn views were obscured by fog or rain. We did have 2 days in Quebec instead of 1. The poor weather kept the passengers inside and the inside facilities and activities did not easily accommodate 3000+ passengers.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Entertainment

The Ice Show was the best. Most of the after dinner shows were fair. The Tony Pace headliner show was a standout. One show was so bad, people walked out. I have never seen that happen on a cruise.

Service and Staff

I cannot say enough good things about the crew. They were wonderful and always friendly, even on the last day. I did feel that the excursion personnel needed to be more knowledgeable about the tours offered on the cruise. They were not able to provide any info beyond what you can read in the pamphlets.

Ship Quality

The nicest and most unique feature was the promanade, and the rooms overlooking it were very nice. The theatres were too small. It was difficult to get a seat for the shows if you did not get there 45 min early. Also, many seats had poor views due to the design of the balcony needing supports.

The crafts displayed were nice and some unique.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Much to see here. Dined at McKelvies, and it was excellent.

Quebec City, Quebec

There was so much to do here. We could have easily spent 3 days and not seen enough.

Pros: Superior service by dining staff and room attendant

Cons: Lack of TV sports programs
