Review summary
Overall rating is good, there are a few areas that could use improvement. We had a great time and did not let the small things bother us, after all we are there to relax. The check in staff needs organization, it was hard to understand the process of dropping off luggage and what documents they required, thankfully I understand italian alittle bit so I was able to manage. Once you step on the ship, it was hard to understand what to do next, some people were in line, others were just standing there, so again, organization and a helpfuil staff is what I was looking for.Ship experiences
Food and Dining
The self service restaurant was just like a cheap cafeteria, the staff was rude, didn't pick up any of the dirty dishes left on the tables, which is hard when you are trying to find a place to eat. People were also rude to the staff, which makes it hard to work around. The evening restaurant was excellent, nothing but a great atmosphere, great food selection and the staff was amazing. By day two they knew our drink preferences and everything, just a great experience.
Entertainment
MSC had the best entertainment I've seen, I was not a big fan of Costa's. The shows were mostly in italian and they were average, nothing stood out.
Service and Staff
The bar crew, restaurant crew and cleaning crew were just great. The excursion team needs alittle more organization and energy, didn't share much info with us, just told us to go downstairs and find the bus number, didn't pass any information and once we left we never saw them.
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
The only thing they did not advertise is the shaking of the engine and how it makes the room vibrate during the day and night...at first it was hard to get used to, but I took some adrenamine and I slept just fine. Having a balcony room was great, gave us time to lay out, view the beautiful cities from afar and take great pictures. The room was in great condition and Mary our cleaning lady was the best I've had. She made our stay a wonderful stay, very prompt and attentive.
