Review summary

Internet performance sucks. Extremely expensive and so slow as to be practically unusable. I have talked with internet manager and customer service. They insist it is as advertised. I disagree strongly.

If except for the internet service (which you should have known about from other comments on most ships) you were satisfied, then why rate the entire cruise as a sewer pit? A cruise is more than just an office away from the office. From your amplifying comment I would guess this should have been a 4 star since there are no half stars.

If a cruise is rated purely on the internet access, you should either stay home or try one that has full medallion capability. Before I retired I did not worry about connectivity. That is what my team and coworkers were there for. Overall, the Coral through the Panama Canal was one of the top 5 cruises we have taken.

I am well satisfied with the ship and service. Also enjoying the amenities and excursions. I just feel the internet service is too expensive for the narrow bandwidth and not being fully retired I needed to be able to keep in touch for the 2 weeks. It made it difficult and I was frustrated. We required separate subscriptions in order for husband and I to be both connected. That would double the cost.

Sounds like you should stay home with your internet. Satelite band with is narrow and expensive. When we cruise we leave technology at home where it belongs. We go on vacation to get away from it all. If you read Princess Cruise website before you sale it tells you everything you need to know. Coral Princess is a Cruise ship not an internet cafe.

I used the internet on that cruise ship only because it was a free package deal for a few minutes did not think it was that bad but I thought it was not a good use of my time while cruising.
