Review summary

First time cruising, and it was nice and more fun than I expected. A nice way to see new places, though timing of certain excursions got a bit tight. Our steward Edgar took VERY good care of us, and the Bordeaux dining room quickly became our favorite venue for breakfast as well as dinner -- very attentive staff. We had an interior room with 3 people, and were amazed at how much storage space we had to unpack our stuff. Wouldn't mind doing this again sometime.

The Steward button on your phone pages the Steward and he comes to your room. It does not connect to a live person for asking questions.

When attending evening shows in the Princess Theater expect a full house. Try to sit in the middle or near the back if you get overheated in crowds. I was caught next to a wall, and as soon as the stage lights were turned on I was hit with a wave of warm and had to leave before I passed out.

This Cruise Ship Mate app did NOT work for us onboard our ship. We used Princess's web app while onboard. The main downside to the Princess app was there were no audible notification sounds when a message came from anyone in our group. We had to check for messages frequently for that feature to be of any use.

Be sure to eat supper in the main dining room when they have Italian night. That night, in my opinion, had the best food of the entire trip. Try the iced peach Bellini soup if you get the chance.

Don't carry or hold your cruise card next to electronics when they are in use -- this can cause the magnetic strip on the card to stop working. If your card's strip does stop working stop by the passenger service desk. They will print you a new one.

Some of us brought neck lanyards and asked the passenger service desk to hole-punch our cruise cards. This made it easy to keep track of the cards and not leave them behind in the room. My SIL had a coffee card, too, and was concerned about getting it wet, since it was paper. My husband had a neck lanyard with a plastic pouch for cards -- SIL used that for both her cruise card and her coffee card.
