Review summary

We stayed in Aqua Class Stateroom and enjoyed the Restaurant Blu that is included as part of this cabin category. We had a decent sized balcony, since we were on the 'hump' midship. The Silhouette is an elegant ship, with an understated decor. Enjoyed the glass elevators overlooking the multi-level atrium. The library has an open plan and is lovely to look at. For the serious reader, however, the ambient sounds might be a distraction. I would have liked a selection of English language magazines to browse through. The main Silhouette Theater was plush and well laid out. We toured the Adriatic region and loved the ports of call.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We love the Restaurant Blu! Food quality and preparations were wonderful. We never ate in the main dining room because the menu there was not enticing enough. Enjoyed Qsine again (the first time was on Celebrity Millennium) and also enjoyed dinner at the Murano. The chefs at the Oceanview Cafe do a good job and were receptive to suggestions. The wait staff at the Oceanview Cafe on the whole were efficient\, but I did notice a chunk of dinner roll that sat under the storage cabinet for 2 days! Table tops were wiped clean\, although the floors especially near the tea/coffee booth were often sticky. Went for crepes on Bistro 5. When we finally got our crepes\, they were good\, but there seemed to be service issues between the kitchen staff and the waitress in getting the order out.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Good entertainment\, some better than others.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Overall\, the staff was friendly. Must commend the staff at most of the specialty restaurants\, especially Restaurant Blu.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Large ship\, still manages to accommodate passengers without feeling crowded. Our August sailing was sold out. It was fairly easy to get around the ship and to the dining areas. The fitness center seemed well equipped although we did not have the time to use it. Public bathrooms were beautifully decorated and kept clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our Aqua class stateroom was situated midship on the 11th level. We had easy access to the elevators and being on the 'hump'\, we had a little more legroom in the balcony. Could not decipher the sounds we heard overhead\, seemingly from the 12th level. Very happy with the bathroom shower but disliked the sink because water splashed no matter how careful you were. Fresh bath towels tucked in the shelf under the sink would get hit with water drips. Loved the adequate storage shelves for toiletries. Main cabin felt tight. Curved bed makes no sense. We tucked the coffee table under the vanity desk to give ourselves some leg space. 3 drawers storage for a 12 night cruise is very limited. The cabinets above the headboard are not so convenient to access and perhaps should be used for storing the extra pillows. Our stateroom attendant was able to provide us with additional plastic hangars for the closet\, which is how we managed. The flat screen TV is a nice feature.

Pros: The ports of call

Cons: August heat
