Review summary
This was our second cruise on Celebrity and one that was given to us by them after a horrible experience on a previous cruise. While Mercury was better than Horizon, that is saying that it was less poor. The bottom line is attention to details and general maintenence. Celebrity simply does not keep a ship, ship-shape. Paint stains on windows, fraying carpet, worn woodwork are evident everywhere. Other lines we have been on perform maintenence every evening and also all day when the ship is in port. Celebrity does NOTHING. I am sure they will say that having the maintenence visible detracts from the ambiance of the cruise, but we have to say, there is no ambiance with the dirty conditions. The crew morale seems to suffer also which we empathize with as they have to live on the ship in these conditions.Pros: The itinerary
